Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Tell iOS app and the tell.coach website. Tell is currently in private beta and provided as-is. By using the app, you agree to what’s below.

What Tell is

Tell is a private social coach. It helps people practice conversations through scripted quests and reflective coaching notes. The coaching is generated by an AI model (currently Anthropic’s Claude) based on a transcript of what was said.

What Tell isn't

• Not a diagnostic tool. Tell does not detect, screen for, or assess any condition. It does not produce data intended for clinical use.
• Not a therapy replacement. Tell is practice, not treatment. If you or someone in your care needs a therapist, Tell does not substitute for one.
• Not a lie detector or interest meter. Tell does not tell you whether someone is attracted to you, deceiving you, or judging you.
• Not a surveillance tool. Don’t use Tell to record other people without their knowledge and consent.

Acceptable use

• Only record real conversations with the consent of everyone involved.
• Don’t use Tell to harass, impersonate, or harm anyone.
• Don’t try to extract or misuse the prompts, model outputs, or other content in a way that violates Anthropic’s or ElevenLabs’ terms.

AI-generated content

Coaching notes and simulated peer dialogue are generated by Claude. Like any AI output, they can be wrong, imprecise, or occasionally misleading. Treat them as a starting point for reflection, not as authoritative judgment about your conversation partner or yourself.

No warranty

Tell is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. During the beta, features may change, break, or disappear without notice. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the people who built Tell are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the “Last updated” date above will change. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
